With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - and it's one she's not sure if she wants to be a part of.

MY REVIEW
I've read books about vampires, witches, werewolves and ogres. But trolls? Yup, this book is about trolls. Well, actually, they call themselves trylles due to the negative connotation of the word 'troll'. I won this book from Goodreads. I have to say, I started the book a few days ago and really couldn't put it down. I found myself reading it every available moment. I really enjoyed this book. The characters are just amazing. I loved the main character 'Wendy". She is a changeling. I've heard about changelings from old tv shows and stories, but always from the human stand point. Changelings are put in place of a human baby and the trolls take the baby. Ever wonder why? That question is answered in this book. Wendy is a strong willed individual. She is loved by her brother and aunt. Somehow her human 'mother' knows she is not quite human and tries to kill her. She tries to stab her to death at Wendy's sixth birthday party. Wow. Kim (the human mother) must be crazy right? Is she? She knows Wendy is not her daughter. She's not quite certain what Wendy is, but she knows she is not her child. Too bad for mom- she ends up in a mental institution while Wendy ends up growing up with a lot of unanswered questions. In comes Finn. He reluctantly explains the situation to Wendy. I loved the character of Finn. Strong, enigmatic character. Never gives too much away. I don't want to give away anything. I do want to stress that I really enjoyed this book. I have a lot of unanswered questions. This is part one of a trilogy. Hopefully my questions will be answered in parts 2 and 3. One thing to say, I look forward to reading more by Amanda Hocking.

  1. Wow! Looks like you're an awesome reviewer! I'd love of review of Fairytale Farms if you ever had the time. I'm really into that extinction of humanity book. I'll have to get that one over the holidays!
