wow- didn't want this book to end

“I was immediately drawn to the characters of this book. I love post-apocalyptic stories and this is one of the best I've read. I was slightly confused at first about the relationship between the main characters and their tigers, was it a telepathic link or were the tigers an extension of the characters' souls (as in the Daemons in Golden Compass). Once I understood the relationship, it was much easier to understand. I didn't care for the unorthodox names of the characters, but that is really the only thing I have to complain about this book. The descriptions the author put forth were amazing, I felt I could actually hear and see the Passion Vine. I also loved the words of wisdom from the tiger Rijan: for example, "Worry is fear of the future. It is foolish to fear something unknown because you don't know it". Wow. This is a great book. I give it 5/5 stars and look forward to the second in the trilogy.

Breakthrough by Stephen Tremp---one book full of action!

To say this book is action packed doesn't begin to do it justice. Breakthrough is an amazing novel of suspense, intrigue and martial arts entertainment. The character of Chase Manhattan (yes that's his real name) reminded me of Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones character. He's a professor of physics by day and a wild rip roaring action adventure hero by night (or when not in the classroom). This novel, the first in a series, is a thrilling roller coaster ride across America. I enjoyed this book and can't wait for Mr. Tremp's next book in the series.

Poetry by Shawn Harris

Hello everyone,
Donna here. I would like to introduce everyone to the poetry of my very talented cousin Shawn Harris. I will feature two of his poems on my blog this week:

Imagine
A horizon filled with colors not seen with an inland sunset, A brisk brush stroke, a painted sky, Seagulls high, searching the sea, A vast ocean's waves answers birds above, Dulling their cries, Wind which wets, dries and cool's in the same instant, A boat's motor fights the wind and waves with bouncing victory, Sea legs, A clicking pole, A sudden jerk, A fisherman's glee, The ocean's depths causes mental hyperventalation, The relief of the shore and the toll this trip has taken, A beach house bedroom, Soft air-dried sheets, Slumber, Sleep.

Spring
There is static in this dusk sky. A silence before the storm. City clouds purple with light, showing their depth with sly approach. A porchfront stoop with city silence. Flat's of life and parked coup's wink. This mid-spring air tickles my sinus. A nose for the future. The distance to the traffic light is just beyond reach, huddled in the tree's. A siren's snicker pierces this thin air. A motor's whine and bumps curb grind. A tree's branches branch into beds of capillaries. A city wood of life.

Hope you enjoy,
Donna

The book contains an old gypsy curse; a curse so powerful it’s called The Curse of the Widowed Bride.
Amy’s secrets could destroy all of them, but what’s a few secrets between friends.
Only one can break the curse.
Which one will walk down the aisle?
Find out in this urban fantasy by Samantha Jillian Bayarr.

What happens when you add a jealous friend and a gypsy curse? A Secret in the Attic, that's what! This book is part romance, part suspense and part paranormal. A perfect combination for readers. This is a delightful urban fantasy. Being a novella, it is an extremely quick read. The only bothersome part, for me, was the main character "Amy". She almost missed her chance at happiness out of fear of an old curse. The character of "Jake" was a bit too perfect for my liking. Overall, I found this to be a fun book. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. 3/5 stars

Grave Robbers by Samantha Jillian Bayarr

Grave Robbers, Urban Fantasy/Paranormal (A Secret in the Attic, Young Adult) I like nothing better than a good ghost story. This is an incredible story. Twelve year old Charlie lives alone with her single dad Frank. Frank is a grave digger for the town. He is also a grave robber, stealing small items from the dead to support his daughter. Charlie decides to steal jewels from a recently deceased widow. She is doing this to attempt to locate her mom. Well, that is when the ghost come into the story....This is not only a tale about ghosts, it is a great story about morality. I cannot give away any more of the story without spoiling the ending for readers. I strongly encourage everyone who likes ghost tales to read this story...at 99cents for the Kindle, it is an unbeatable bargain. I enjoyed this story and will definitely purchase more from Samantha Jillian Bayarr.
